Over the past ten weeks, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching a fantastic group of learners as part of the Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for Fashion Design course, delivered in partnership with Enterprising Ashfield and supported by Nottingham Trent University.
In just 25 hours of learning, the group progressed from complete beginners to confident users, developing skills in creating mood boards, illustrations, technical flats, and print designs. It’s always rewarding to see how quickly learners can develop when training is hands-on, practical, and tailored to real industry use.
The final three weeks of the course were focused on project work. Each learner developed a bespoke creative project, putting their new skills into practice while working collaboratively. It was brilliant to see everyone bring their own ideas to life, with the group supporting each other and sharing different areas of expertise throughout the process.
This kind of peer learning and collaborative creativity is exactly what makes short courses like this so valuable, not just for upskilling, but for confidence building too.
The progress made across the cohort was genuinely impressive. By the end of the ten weeks, learners were producing professional-looking design assets using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, ready to support their creative and business goals. What’s more, feedback from the course has been so positive that many learners are already signing up for the next cohort starting in January. I’m always keen to keep learning going beyond the classroom, so I’m really looking forward to seeing where they take their skills next.
