What is the AI Pose Generator in CLO3D?

The AI Pose Generator allows you to create custom avatar poses in CLO3D using text prompts, suggested keywords or reference images. It can be useful when you need a more specific stance or presentation pose without manually positioning every avatar joint from scratch.

In this tutorial, I explore the AI Pose Generator as it appeared in CLO3D 2025, from generating a pose with a written prompt through to refining the result using FK and IK avatar joints. I also show how to create a pose from an image, save it for future use and troubleshoot what happens when a garment shifts out of position while the avatar pose is being adjusted.

What I cover in the tutorial

  • Opening and setting up the AI Pose Generator
  • Generating poses from text prompts
  • Using keywords alongside prompts
  • Trying the Random Pose option
  • Adjusting generated poses using FK and IK avatar joints
  • Resetting avatar joints
  • Generating a pose from a reference image
  • Saving poses for later use
  • Reviewing your pose-generation history
  • Adding a saved pose to a CLO3D project
  • Fixing garment placement after changing the avatar pose

Want to understand manual avatar positioning too? If you want more control beyond AI-generated poses, I also have a quick tutorial covering the basic tools for moving your avatar in CLO3D.

Version note: This tutorial was recorded using CLO3D 2025. The AI Pose Generator is still available as a Beta feature, but CLO continues to update its AI tools, so some interface details and options may look different in newer versions.

Go deeper: AI tools can speed up parts of the workflow, but knowing how to assess and adjust the result still matters. I explore that wider skills question in Future-Proof Your CLO3D Skills: The Three Things I’d Actually Focus On.
